Ayurveda is an ancient Indian science of healing
that is over 5000 years old!
Ayurveda takes an individualized approach to healing. Everyone is seen as beautiful and unique. Therefore, treatment should also be unique to each individual.
By living in balance with nature and its changing seasons, we can live a healthier + more fulfilling life!
This is attained by adapting our diet, lifestyle and spiritual practices with the natural changes of our outer environment.
Ayurveda brings to life the concept of
preventative care and health promotion.
Body Therapies:
Shirodhara is a continuous flow of warm oil on the forehead. It is very relaxing for the nervous system, great for mental health imbalances like anxiety, fears, insomnia. Relieves headaches. Great for all doshas.
Kati Basti is a pool of warm oil retained on the lower back to relieve pain and stiffness. The oil lubricates the joints and nourishes the muscles. Great for people who sit at a desk all day & conditions like sciatica and arthritis.
Janu Basti is a pool of warm oil retained on one or both knees. The oil lubricates the joints, reduces pain & inflammation. Improves mobility and strengthens the joints.
Great for osteoarthritis and helps reduce age-related degeneration of the knees.
Greeva Basti is a pool of warm oil retained on the neck. Benefits include the same as the other bastis. It is great for those with a sedentary lifestyle, acute & chronic neck conditions, heals past injuries, helps relieve the burden of stress.
Great for conditions like frozen shoulders & fractures.
Nabhi Basti is a pool of warm oil retained on the navel. It is mainly beneficial for digestive health (constipation, absorption issues, poor appetite bloating, IBS symptoms) but is also helpful for menstrual health in women and releases deep-seated emotions.
Choorna Pinda Swedana is a process of roasting certain dry herbs, then wrapping them in a bolus then massaging/tapping onto the body. This treatment is great for pain, inflammation, injuries and musculoskeletal issues. More beneficial for Kapha individuals but can be done for any dosha.
Consults:
Ayurvedic Consults - include a thorough health examination to find the root cause of imbalances, tongue diagnosis, personalized treatment plan (each one is unique). Treatment includes personalized diet plan, herbal protocol, yoga, pranayama (breathwork), meditations & body therapies if needed.
Dharmic Healing Consults - Using dharmic principles I support individuals who want to start on a spiritual path who want to progress spiritual transformation. I include Ayurvedic medicine, Yoga and Tantric practices (working with mantras, yantras, goddesses). These are more subtle, energetic practices.
Functional Medicine consults - Yolanda works with a functional medicine practitioner who orders and reviews your bloodwork. She will look for deficiencies and even look at your blood type to come up with a treatment plan. Treatment includes vitamins, supplements, diet plan. This will also include an Ayurvedic consult to dive deeper into imbalances and incorporate into your regimen.
